Experienced researcher, GATE Institute
Lidia Vitanova is an experienced researcher at GATE. She is Doctor in Climatology and Engineer in Ecology, actively engaged in urban climate, urban heat islands, ecology and environmental protection, renewable energy and smart cities and technologies. She completed her master’s degree at the University of Mining and Geology St. Ivan Rilski, Sofia, with a speciality in Ecology and Environmental Protection. In 2019, she defended her doctoral degree at the University of Tsukuba in Japan, majoring in Urban Climatology, with the topic “Numerical study of urban heat islands in Sofia and Sendai with current, past and potential land use with natural vegetation”. Since 2019 Lidia has been working as a researcher in smart cities, low-carbon emissions and urban planning in Japan. She is an author of numerous international scientific publications on urban climate, modelling and urban planning.
